Founded in 1663, Shamaguri Satra preserves the unique craft of traditional Assamese mask-making (Mukha Shilpa) introduced by Srimanta Sankardev. Led by Padmashree awardee artisans, the resident monks craft intricate movable-jaw masks of mythological figures using bamboo armatures, cotton, cow dung, and vegetable dyes.

Founded by Ahom King Jayadhwaj Singha in 1653, Auniati Satra is celebrated for preserving royal relics, gold-gilded utensils, Ahom royal swords, ivory mats, and ancient palm-leaf manuscripts.
