Khokhrakot Ancient Yaudheya Coin Mound
Khokhrakot Mound, Rohtak, Haryana 124001
Rising 35 feet above the surrounding plains on Rohtak's northern edge, Khokhrakot is an ancient settlement identified as 'Rohitaka' mentioned in the Mahabharata's Sabha Parva. Systematic excavations have yielded terracotta coin moulds of the martial Yaudheya republic dating to 100 BCE–300 CE, painted grey ware, and Kushan seals.
