Hauz Khas Complex & Water Reservoir

📍 Hauz Khas Village, Deer Park, New Delhi 110016

Originally excavated by Sultan Alauddin Khalji as Hauz-i-Alai in 1295 CE to supply water to the citadel of Siri, the complex was desilted and expanded in 1352 by Firoz Shah Tughlaq with a stone-vaulted Islamic seminary (Madrasa) and his own tomb. Overlooking a scenic lake fringed by weeping willows and a lush deer park, it is a favored sunset and cultural hotspot.
